A More General Discrete Delay

Time delays are not necessarily constants. They can hide in functions like g(t) that satisfies g(t)t for all admissible t.

In that case, when we want to define the interval where our functions live, we usually take [t0τ, , where we wish τ satisfies

tτinf{g(t):t[t0,},

which is equivalent to

τsup{tg(t):t[t0,}.

Or

τsupj=1,,m{tgj(t):t[t0,}.

for more general case.
